STEVEN SANDBERG-LEWIS, ND, DHANP

Gastroenterology Mentor Shift

In collaboration with the National University of Natural Medicine, 8 Hearts Health & Wellness offers its Gastroenterology Mentor Shift.

This clinical shift is supervised by Dr. Steven Sandberg-Lewis with support from his resident physician.

The Gastro Shift often receives referrals of patients with digestive diseases who desire naturopathic treatment options. Interns assisting Dr. Sandberg-Lewis on the Mentor Shift are personally hand-selected based on their exceptional abilities, proficiency, and interest in digestive care. Together they can assess digestive dysfunction and often find successful treatments to regain normal function of the digestive system.

Dr. Sandberg-Lewis has been a practicing naturopathic physician for over 40 years, previously on Orcas Island in Washington and for many years exclusively at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) Teaching Clinic.

His areas of specialty include:

● Gastro-intestinal conditions, including IBD (w/microscopic colitis), IBS, SIBO, GERD, biliary dyskinesia, and chronic nausea

● Chronic sinusitis and infections

● Spinal manipulation and soft tissue techniques

The Gastro Shift also supports in-office procedures such as hiatal hernia maneuvers and nasal specific. Patients will also have access to various testing options, including on-site SIBO Breath Testing and Heidelberg pH testing.
