Josh Luper, LAc
Josh Luper is a licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine practitioner for 8 Hearts Health & Wellness. Josh’s approach to patient care focuses on supporting the individual constitution of each person with an awareness of the body as a whole. He utilizes various techniques with a strong emphasis in the 8 Extras, auricular (ear), and 5 Element, keeping in mind the psycho-somatic relationship of disease.
Having his practice at 8 Hearts allows Josh to work alongside other amazing practitioners to provide specialized, adjunctive care with an ease of continuity. These patients are often dealing with digestive issues (like IBS and/or SIBO), seasonal allergies, traumatic brain injuries, or stress and anxiety. Josh also specializes in increasing the free flow of Qi throughout the body as Qi stagnation can be the primary culprit of pain. He works to accomplish this by improving the transfer of motion through the body’s vertical core and giving attention to potential fascial “adhesions” that can restrict free movement and register in the body as pain.
Josh received his Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine training from Middle Way Acupuncture Institute in Mount Vernon, WA. In addition, Josh also completed a ten-month practitioner-intensive training in Structural Integration at the Northwest Center for Structural Integration. Josh has found the goals of SI to be a natural companion to Chinese Medicine.
When not seeing patients or working in the clinic office at 8 Hearts, he enjoys hiking and exploring the Pacific Northwest, as well as traveling to visit family in his hometown Nashville, TN. Josh’s diverse background and experiences help guide him in his practice and create space for individuals from all walks of life.
